How to find s rank hunts in FF14? ›

Hunts can't move into a spot that another hunt has claimed even if it's dead. With both A-Ranks up, you kill the B-Rank and it will move to a new spot on the map each time, except for where the S-Rank will spawn. By marking each spot you kill the B-Rank, you'll narrow down where the S-Rank spawns.

Many players report that if you just beeline the main scenario quest only and don't focus on any other aspect of the game, you're looking at about 40-60 hours just to beat the base game, A Realm Reborn. Each expansion adds about 40-50 hours of content in story.

Note that you must have completed the level 60 quest Elite and Dangerous in Ishgard to unlock hunts.
